Frequently Asked Questions

❓ What do Counselling Psychologists do?

Counseling psychologists offer therapy and support to individuals, couples, or families, addressing emotional and mental health issues. They assess, diagnose, and provide evidence-based interventions to help clients manage their challenges and improve their overall well-being. These professionals may specialize in various areas, including relationships, trauma, and career guidance. Their ultimate aim is to facilitate positive personal growth and emotional health for their clients.

❓ What is the difference between psychiatrist and psychologist?

Psychiatrists are medical professionals that prioritize treating symptoms while also writing prescriptions for drugs. Medication prescriptions are not made by clinical psychologists. To deal with mental and emotional disorders, they mostly employ therapeutic techniques.

❓ What is the difference between psychotherapy and counseling?

Psychotherapy is normally a long-term treatment, whereas counseling is frequently a short-term one. While psychotherapy exhaustively and intensively addresses a person's long-standing beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that have contributed to current problems, counseling focuses on the here-and-now and urgent challenges. By bringing about profound changes in one's perspective of oneself, life, and the world in general, it goes farther to address the underlying causes of issues and enhance health.

❓When do I see a psychologist?

- When you're feeling upset
- Possessing suicidal ideas
- Being bothered by involvement in your social and professional life
- Having your loved ones worry about you
- When you feel overwhelmed by a concept, action, or emotion
- When you are having relationship issues
- If you consistently experience emotional or mental health issues
- When you can't handle things well

❓ Am I mad or crazy if I see a psychologist?

It's a prevalent misconception that people who seek mental health care are psychotic, crazy, or mad. The stigma surrounding mental illness is what gives people who require psychological assistance labels. Everybody has challenges, no matter how great or small. These can cause anxiety and interfere with our functioning, which has an impact on our capacity for coping. It's not a sign that you're psycho, insane, or crazy to seek counseling. It merely indicates that you are finding it tough to deal with challenges and that you require support to improve your coping and problem-solving abilities.

❓ How long does the treatment take?

Depending on the sort of treatment chosen, the person's goals, and the nature and extent of their current challenges, it differs from person to person.

❓How often are appointments scheduled?

The type of the client's challenges and the therapeutic strategy used will determine how frequently sessions are held. Sessions are frequently planned once or twice a week. Sessions might be planned more regularly in the event of a severe catastrophe.

❓How do you book a session?

Every customer is seen by appointment only. By providing your contact information in the contact form, an appointment can be scheduled. Email is an additional method of contact. Within 24 hours, you will receive a response from us with all the information you need to organize a session, including the timings, cost, and procedure.

❓What is our cancellation policy?

You can inform us with any last-minute changes at least 24 hours before the appointment in case of emergency. If you miss your appointment or after that, there will be no refunds given.

❓What can I expect in first consultation?

The duration of the first session will be 1.5 hours. A detailed history is taken during the first session focusing on the presenting problems, developmental, past and family history. This will help with establishing rapport and formulating a treatment plan. It will all be conducted in the context of respect, open-mindedness, genuineness, empathy, and non judgmental attitude.
